Kenny Ritchie Festival

The Club hosts an annual tournament, The Kenny Ritchie Festival of Football, which brings together hundreds of young footballers from around Scotland to play small-sided games at 4, 5, 7 and 9 a-side.

The Festival, which takes place at Pinkie Playing Fields, is held in memory of Club legend, former player, coach and committee member, Kenny Ritchie.

A dedicated football man and keen advocate of youth football, Kenny joined Windsor as a 15 year old in 1962, playing for the Under 16 and Under 17 teams. He went on to form Eskside Boys Club, which amalgamated with Deantown BC, before returning to Windsor as a committee member in 1978.

Kenny would go on to fulfil a number of roles at the Club including General Treasurer, Vice-President, Auditor and Tournament Controller. He was also Honorary President and sponsored the under-13s through his company Drummohr Technology, continuing to do so up to under 19s.

He completed 23 years on the Club’s board before standing down in 2006 although he remained involved with Windsor for the rest of his life.

Kenny also became President of the Edinburgh and District Youth League, providing the Ken Ritchie Cup to the Under 13 age group, attending every final to make the presentation.
